Sonya is currently the chef/owner of online organic bakery, Whole Cakes, based in San Francisco. Everything that goes into making the great cakes are organic and when available, locally sourced. The cakes are getting great reviews and Whole Cakes delivers to most Bay Area locations for a nominal delivery charge. Sonya is actively looking for offline location where her customers can walk in, browse and try the cake selections of the day and enjoy a fine cup of coffee, tea or other beverages (all organic of course!). Sonya also runs bluetoes, the Korean e-commerce site with kids clothes, accessories and the occasional mom's and dad's stuff. bluetoes has over 1,000 active members and is growing rapidly.
Sonya has worked in marketing and brand management for several high-tech and consumer products companies including, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, L'Oreal, and Kiss Products. Sonya has an MBA from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and undergraduate degree from Yonsei University in Korea.
Henry is currently working on a start-up with some friends that centers around k-pop and "hanryu", hoping to unveil the site before the end of the year. Henry is also a partner at JB Plus Ventures where he focuses on business development between telecom companies in Korea, Bay Area and Latin America.
Henry worked with many Korean companies entering US market. Henry launched and managed as the President/CEO of Cyworld, Inc., building US presence for a Korean leading social network service with over 20 million active users and over US$100 million revenue from selling virtual goods online. Cyworld was the pioneer of social network service and virtual economy and Henry's efforts with Cyworld landed him on the 50 most influential people on the Web in 2007 by PC Magazine. Henry also worked with several venture backed startups including New Media Life, a leading mobile IPTV and multimedia device company; 3cim, a web-based photo sharing and advertisement platform developer. Henry is working on identifying, evaluating and making investments in startups on behalf of his clients at early stage startups.
Henry earned an MBA from Georgetown University and undergraduate degree in Mathematics from University of Western Ontario, Canada.
